What is Micro-Needling?
Micro-needling is also called skin needling, collagen induction therapy, and dermal needling. Micro-needling a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body to fill these microscopic wounds by producing new collagen and elastin. There is improvement in skin texture and firmness, as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.
Does it hurt?
We use topical numbing cream, which greatly reduces the discomfort. There will be pinprick sensation felt on the area being treated which most people find very tolerable. The sensation is comparable to very strong microdermabrasion.
There is required after care with micro-needling. With this treatment after care is just as important as the treatment itself. We use the Rhonda Allison protocol for after care and we require that you purchase our after care with service. Many people experience light to moderate redness for a period of 24 hours or less after the procedure. In order to minimize redness we recommend patients to avoid direct sunlight and use mineral makeup and hyaluronic acid.
