Microdermabrasion

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning, also known as microplaning or blading, is a non-invasive procedure for the removal of the outermost layers of dead skin cells on the face. The dermaplaning treatment involves exfoliation of targeted areas of the surface layers of the skin using a very small blade. The blade is stroked along the skin at an angle, removing dead skin and vellus hair. The result is skin that is immediately freshened and vitalized, even after one treatment. Clients often benefit from multiple treatments spaced three to four weeks apart. Dermaplaning can be an alternative to chemical peels or microdermabrasion, and may be ideal for patients with extremely sensitive skin, unwanted facial hair, or rosacea. The treatment can also be combined with an fruit enzyme or chemical peel to allow the peel to penetrate the skin more deeply and evenly.

Benefits of Dermaplaning

* Smoother, more even complexion

*Removal of fine facial hair ( vellus hair), commonly referred to as “peach fuzz”

*Enhanced penetration of skin care products following treatment

* Enzymes and Chemical Peels with have a deeper product penetration

* Reduction in the appearance of acne scars

Dermaplaning is a favorite in the entertainment industry, specifically among models and actresses. Why? It also eliminates that annoying peach fuzz that cakes up in makeup and can be enhanced by harsh production lighting and high-definition cameras.

Wondering if you should try dermaplaning versus microdermabrasion? They are both forms of physical exfoliation, but the methods are very different. Microdermabrasion sands and suctions dead skin cells, which also helps to uproot clogged pores around the nose, mouth and chin. Dermaplaning safely scrapes off the top layer of skin, so it is well suited for drier skin types and anyone who wants to get rid of peach fuzz. Both methods are good for almost everyone and it could just come down to your personal preference.
